Nurturing Kids Hearts
Mommy Lily Verano
"Mommy, I mish Icee boy, Josh, Martina. I wanna go to Tumbletots...I wanna play plssss.." Those were the words Ishah innocently uttered one summer vacation that she had to forgo schooling for a while to rest. From the tone of her voice alone, it occurred to me how she has grown attached to her small world of fun in Tumbletots. There she has met fellow tots who find the meaning of life in jumping, hopping, rolling, singing and dancing. Next to us, there she has found a family.
Ishah was barely 1 year and 5 months when she started school every Saturday. It was just a once-a-week class but noticeably her skills and confidence quickly developed. Upon reaching 2-years of age, we decided to take her to the next level of challenges in the "Toddlers Exploration Class". That meant more school days..and for Ishah--more play time. Offhand, we were anxious because in such a class, parents can’t be pulled behind by their toddlers. Knowing Ishah, losing sight of us for a second just rattles her. But to my surprise, on her first day of exploration class, she went with her teacher without an ounce of hesitation and even flashed an ear-to-ear smile. It signalled the start of more beautiful things to come her way. Now, it’s but normal to see her "making kulit" to her teachers every single school day.
With the help of her sweet and caring teachers, Ishah learned to become more independent and not too clingy to mommy. We saw how her physical, social and mental skills sharpenned in their day-to-day activities at school.
Ishah is naturally creative and this was best seen in the crafts she makes at school. She’d take home her artworks and take care of them like this one turtle replica she made sure its colorful scales were all intact. To say that Ishah is also hyperactive is an understatement. At school, Ishah found a place where there’s "no-holds" bar in hopping, jumping, running and rolling with her friends.
For us, Tumble Tots is not only a place of fun but a family where values are nurtured in kids’ hearts. This we saw in how Ishah began to expressively show she loves us. Every morning she never fails to amuse us with her "I LOVE YOU’s" upon waking up! How sweet is that!!! Even parents and teachers in school are surprised by her emotional expressions --hugging, cuddling and patting a sobbing classmate’s back. She even offers tissue...WOW!!! We just stand watching in awe.
Tumble Tots teachers and staff are very warm and friendly not only to the students but to parents as well. Waiting for 2 hours till dismissal time is never a waste when you’re treated with kindness as though you’re family.
Looking back, we never regret the day we enrolled Ishah in Tumble Tots. Before we thought enrolling toddlers in a play school wouldn’t make a difference in a child’s life, but now we know, given the opportunity...it does mightily. It is also never a coincidence but is God’s will when I took that second look at that small newspaper ad about Tumble Tots. It is when we began to have more colorful, meaningful and fun-filled bonding time with our daughter Ishah... Thanks to Tumble Tots!!!
...Hence that summer day, when Ishah gave us those summoning eyes, we assured her she’d be back in Tumble Tots circle sooner than she thought...and that’s why we’re here..
